Mark Morganelli Quartet Celebrates Miles Davis at 100!

Barrington Hall is pleased to welcome Mark Morganelli, a jazz trumpeter and flugelhornist, promoter, and educator, is the founder and Executive Director of Jazz Forum Arts to celebrate Miles Davis at 100!

As a trumpeter/flugelhornist, Morganelli has recorded six albums, most recently “For Miles”, recorded in March 2023 in Italy, and “Brasil!” which was released in 2019. Morganelli has also performed at the Montreux, JVC/NY, Syracuse and Saratoga Jazz Festivals, and has toured in Italy for the past thirty years. Morganelli has also played with Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito D’Rivera, James Moody, Mario Bauza, Houston Person, John Hicks, Harold Land, Billy Hart, Ben Riley, Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb and Louis Hayes.

Morganelli has produced more than 60 CDs, featuring such musicians as Kenny Barron, Donald Harrison, Dr. John, Paquito D’Rivera, James Moody, Claudio Roditi, Ricky Ford, Lee Konitz, Barry Harris, Jon Faddis, Randy Brecker, Joanne Brackeen, Pat Martino and Al Foster.

Jazz Forum Arts Not for Profit: Established 1985 in New York to present top-quality arts events to the public, at little or no cost, while enhancing the appreciation of Jazz, America’s pre-eminent indigenous musical art form. Founding Board Members included Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis, and David Amram. In 2017, Jazz Forum Arts created a jazz club (Jazz Forum) to present live jazz music, as well hosting a rotating gallery featuring visual artists, and establishing jazz education programs for young musicians. Jazz Forum Arts has received grants from, among others, the NEA, New York State Council on the Arts, and ArtsWestchester, and from numerous other government and corporate sponsors. Jazz Forum, Tarrytown has been named by Downbeat Magazine as one of the top Jazz venues in the world.  Mark also produced the Berkshire Jazz Festival 2001-03 at Butternut in Great Barrington.
